About the System

Discover the Miss Amy & Me Learning System

Miss Amy & Me brings letters to life through memorable characters, meaningful stories, movement, American Sign Language, tactile tracing, and phonological awareness.

Every character has a reason for making their sound. Children do not simply memorize that a picture goes with a letter. They discover why the character makes the sound, then connect that story to a movement, an ASL sign, and the letter itself.

Each part of Miss Amy & Me can be used independently, but together they give children repeated opportunities to see, hear, say, move, and feel the letters they are learning.

Character Storybooks

Every letter has its own character with a story behind their sound.

Children discover why Albert Alligator says /a/ when he is about to sneeze, why Benny Bear says /b/ when he shivers, why Daphne Dino says /d/ as her feet dance across the floor, and why each new character makes their special sound.

The stories give children something meaningful to remember when they are trying to recall a letter sound.

Each storybook brings together memorable characters, rich vocabulary, alliteration, social emotional themes, and early literacy skills.

The learning continues after the story with phonological awareness activities that get children moving. Children use fun motions as they practice important early literacy skills such as identifying sounds, blending, segmenting, and playing with words.

Rather than asking children to memorize isolated letter sounds, the stories and activities give those sounds a reason to stick.

ABC Tactile Flashcards

These are more than ordinary alphabet cards.

Each card introduces children to a Miss Amy & Me character and connects that character directly to the letter and sound.

Children can trace the tactile letter while practicing its sound, helping connect what they see, say, and feel.

Color coded formation cues guide children through the correct path for forming each letter, while QR access connects families and educators to additional instruction and practice.

The cards reinforce letter recognition, letter sounds, letter formation, tactile learning, character sound cues, movements, and ASL.

The Miss Amy & Me ABC Board Book

Meet all 26 Miss Amy & Me characters in one sturdy book created for little learners.

Each character introduces children to a letter, its sound, and the movement connected to the character's story. Children can practice the accompanying ASL signs and movements right alongside Miss Amy.

It is a simple way to introduce the entire Miss Amy & Me alphabet and build familiarity with the characters before diving deeper into their individual stories.

Letter Learning Hub

The learning continues beyond the books and cards.

Each letter has its own digital learning page where families and educators can meet the character, learn the reason behind their sound, practice the character movement, learn the ASL sign, and watch Miss Amy demonstrate the motions.

Children can hear the story connection and immediately practice what they have learned.

Additional resources and literacy activities can continue to be added as the Miss Amy & Me system grows.

Learn With Miss Amy

Short video demonstrations make it easy for adults and children to practice together.

Miss Amy demonstrates the character motions, letter sounds, and ASL signs so families can see exactly how each part of the system is used.

No special training is needed. Children can simply watch, imitate, and practice.

Designed to Work Together

Children need many meaningful opportunities to interact with letters and sounds.

A child might meet a character in the ABC board book, discover the complete story behind the character's sound in a picture book, practice the sound and motions with Miss Amy, and trace the tactile letter on a flashcard.

Each experience brings them back to the same character and the same memorable sound connection.

Story Sound Movement ASL Tracing Memory

Instead of learning each skill in isolation, children begin connecting them together.
